Lightweight cycling tools and spares

There are some good opportunities for weight loss in the tools that you carry. Two approaches are available:

  • carry less tools and spares; and
  • carry lighter tools and spares.

Some tips:

  • don't double up on tools - if your multitool has a phillips head screwdriver, there's no nead for a leatherman with a screwdriver. Get a leatherman without the extra screwdriver (like the Freestyle) and save doubling up.
