Prototyping with surface mount components

Surface mount to breadboard IC adapters

There are an increasing number of ICs that are only being made in surface mount packages and not the good old SIP or DIP packages that are so useful for plugging into a breadboard and prototyping away.

Fortunately, there are solutions out there in the form of small circuit boards that have solder pads for the surface mount ICs and through holes for adding header pins to go into the breadboard.  I got these ones from ebay.
