CLC200 wiper blade replacement with wiper refill

Mercedes CLC200 wiper blade replacement

In Australia it's hard to get replacement wiper blades for this vehicle from the normal sources like Supercheap, Repco, Autobahn or even more specialist parts suppliers.

Bosch make a replacement set A933S but it is quite expensive (around $150 for a set last time I checked).

Instead of replacing the entire wiper unit, it is possible to replace just the wiper blade with a refill.

Wiper blade replacement

Step 1

Remove wiper blade assembly from vehicle by sliding the retention mechanism away from the wiper arm.

Step 2

Remove the wiper blade end stop by cutting the old wiper refill and pulling it out of the wiper groove. At that stage you can squeeze the metal strips together and remove the plastic end stop without damaging it.

Step 3

Remove the center fixing point and the two spacing clips that hold the assembly together by gently squeezing the assembly in a vice so that you can pop these parts off.

Suitable wiper refills

You need to get a wiper refill that is 8.5mm wide but is quite narrow at the retention groove.  The wiper blade refills that have steel strips to assist with retention are your best bet.  You won't be using the steel strips but the slot in which they go will be suitable for use with the slot and steel retention mechanism on the factory wiper.

A suitable wiper blade refill is available from Repco (Part number RRTRW28-10S).
