The good

  • great braking power;
  • good modulation;
  • low maintenance through use of mineral oil as brake fluid;
  • good stopping power in the wet if using shimano XT (or better) rotors;

The bad

  • heavy;
  • non rebuildable - Shimano does not sell parts. If, for example, a seal in your caliper goes, you need to buy a whole new caliper;
