Capreo based big-range cassettes

Standard Capreo cassette is 9 speed and goes from 9 - 26t giving a 289% spread. For 1x drivetrain setups, a larger spread is needed.

A number of people putting together tweaked big-range cassettes based on the Capreo small gears and a mix of larger cassette gears:

At the very least you must use the capreo 9, 10, 11 and 13 cogs because these are specially made to work together. For the big cogs you must go from 15 or 16 to 34 in only 5 steps. Getting these steps even is a real difficulty.

When road bikes went to 11 speed, Shimano increased the width of the cassette in such a way that it needed a wider freehub.  Thankfully these wider freehubs never made it over to the MTB world otherwise ...
